Welcome to our story, Brian Campbell here, the founder of 86Aero.

In 1992 I started my own business – Auto Body Centre ( ABC ! ) after serving an apprenticeship and working in various car body repair and restoration shops.

I passed all my City and Guilds exams and NVQ’s with Credits and Distinctions, not that I needed them since….. I became known locally for custom bodywork, which was very popular at the time – the “Max Power” days!!

I produced many many show cars with alot of them having the first of their kind bespoke modifications such as “Lambo” door hinges. I was the first in Ireland, North and South, to fit them . The first fitted to a custom, SW20 MR2 ! Another first was Chromaflair (flip) paint, on my own 300zx.

While making custom bodywork, I quite often found it difficult to get my hands on various spoilers, bonnet vents, etc, so, with my previous experience with fibreglass working with my friend in CG Marine. I started making moulds of my own, and producing copies.

The first item I produced for a car was an Evo6 style bonnet vent! I used to fit these into everything – Corsa’s, Saxo’s, Civic’s, even Mondeo’s!

The highlight of my custom bodywork career was building the 2004 Max Power Live “Car of the Show”. A Honda Civic. I built the bodywork and all custom/one-off parts

Then when that scene died, I moved on to Drifting and producing the bodykits for the Drift cars. I started Driftkits in September 2004.

You could say I have “a thing” for customising cars!

86aero was started in 2017, as a sister company to Driftkits.

I felt Driftkits was too involved with drifting, whereas 86aero and its products cover so much more!

My range of Toyota and Lexus parts was growing rapidly.

We now have a ever growing range of kits, all hand made by ourselves to the highest quality.
